Some of the features of DyoFix Black include:

  • Blocks the sun's rays to effectively starve the food source of Algae
  • Enhances the reflective properties of ponds
  • Creates a stunning background for water plants
  • Completely free of Pesticides and Herbicides
  • Harmless to filters and plants

DyoFix Black, from dye company Town End (Leeds) plc, was featured in the BBC's hit programme 'A Year at Kew'.

Unlike other products on the market to clear ponds. DyoFix Black is not harmful to plant life and does not contain chemicals such as herbicides or bactericides.

Instead, the product dyes the water black or dark purple, starving the offending algae of the light it needs to grow - at the same time creating a stunning backdrop for pond lilies and other plants. DyoFix Black is for use in fish-free ponds.

Peter Watson, production director of DyoFix producers Town End (Leeds) plc, said "If you have ever had bloom algae or the dreaded blanket weed in your pond, you'll know that once it takes hold it can be a messy job to get rid of it".

"What we have developed is a simple, clean and cheap solution to the problem which isn't harmful to the plant life and which at the same time enhances the look of your pond."

One application of DyoFix Black Algae Inhibitor, which comes in powder form, can last up to three months and does not damage filtering systems.

Thanks to Mr. Lloyd Burchmore for this testimonial and photograph on the left.

My rill was designed to be a reflective pond and on completion we found ourselves looking at the joins in the liner, not good. After a quick search on the web we found www.dyofix.co.uk and Dyofix Pond Black. I ordered some and it arrived the following day, and desired results were instant.

We recently opened the garden to the public who found the rill's colour and reflective qualities quite fascinating. More to the point is that we have had a duck, frogs, waterboatmen and grass snakes in the water without any harm.
